Here is some information that I found out about animals in earthquakes.
Chinese have discovered through research that not all animals behave strangely before an earthquake happens, but some earthquakes do cause peculiar behaviour. This is what they do; dogs howl at night, birds get restless in their cages and nervous cats hide. How interesting is that.
